The Leo Ash Blues Band – LABB is a supremely talented, blues-based rock band with energetic grooves and soulful feel. We are most know for our bar room and private gigs. However, over the past ten years the core group has played several other gigs to include festivals and weddings. We integrate both originals and covers with Chicago and Texas feel.
About
The Leo Ash Blues Band started as band called the Snogos. Two friends from college who played guitar together and moved to Anchorage to start our lives in the city. In a roundabout way Jeremy Gustafson and Leo always wanted to have a fun blues band and gig around the state together. The Name Snogos was Jeremy’s idea. We joined forces with local legendary rhythm section Joe Eunice and the late Ron Brown to create this band. When Jeremy became busy with work and family, it became clear that we were no longer able to use the Snogos name. Leo took a leadership role in writing and booking gigs and decided to change the name to The Leo Ash Blues Band. We’ve since been fortunate to obtain the saxophone skill of Mike Merrill also a local legend in his own right.
